Spacefarming: the future of food is the second expo about the future at the Evoluon, created by Next Nature. This exhibition focuses on a food revolution.
Koert van Mensvoort, director of Next Nature, says, "We are at the beginning stage of a new food revolution. The ideas we present here are just the tip of the innovation iceberg. It gives me confidence that the world will be able to feed 10 billion people by 2050."
FUTURE FOOD ON EARTH
With the food of the future, humanity will be able to feed more than 10 billion people by 2050 with minimal harm to our planet. This is achievable if we now take an original and efficient approach to our food and its production.
RetroFuture explores how people in the past envisioned the future and what our expectations of the future are today. The exhibition is curated by Next Nature.
The future repeats itself and evolution continues.
What seemed quite strange not long ago is now familiar (think of video calling). What was once unimaginable is now normal (think of flying). Many visions of the future remained science fiction (like time travel). What does this mean for how we look at the future today? What can we learn from yesterday's futurists?
Step into the spectacular Virtual Reality Time Machine at the Evoluon and travel millions of years into the future. Experience the same awe-inspiring sensation that astronauts feel when they gaze upon our planet from space, and explore the vast universe with its infinite number of supernovas and galaxies.
To visit the Retrofuture exhibition and the VR Time Machine, you will need a valid admission ticket. Choose your desired ticket below and reserve your spot today. See you soon!
Open call Spaceship Earth
We invite artists, designers and visual storytellers to imagine the most daring, most promising, most inspiring new ideas about the changing relationship between humans, nature and technology.
“Spaceship Earth” explores the next evolutionary stages of planet earth. Launching in the Evoluon, the building resembles a spaceship; yet we acknowledge planet earth as our mothership. Therefore we inhabit the building as a facility in which we train all humans to work together as a harmonious crew for the future generations to come.
